Lancaster man killed in three-vehicle crash on Danville Road in Boyle County
BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly three-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday afternoon in Boyle County.
According to Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond, the collision happened just before 4:15 p.m. on Danville Road near the intersection of Goggin Lane.
Investigators say a Chevrolet Silverado traveling east crossed the center line while attempting to pass another vehicle that was slowing to turn. Troopers say the Silverado first struck the rear of that vehicle before colliding head-on with a Dodge Grand Caravan traveling west.
The driver of the Grand Caravan, Larry Myers, 80, of Lancaster, died at the scene, according to the Boyle County Coroner.
Authorities say the other two drivers involved were taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
