KSP investigates an inmate death in Calloway County

MURRAY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky state police are investigating an inmate death from the Calloway County Jail.

KSP was notified about the death on Thursday around 7:30 p.m.

At the jail, an inmate was found unresponsive after laying down in his bunk.

KSP and the Calloway County coroner responded to the jail and found 78 year old Joe P. Barnett of Murray dead at the scene.

No foul play is suspected and an autopsy has been scheduled.
