KSP helps identify 45-year-old cold case murder victim

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) — With the help of Kentucky State Police, a 45-year-old cold case murder victim was finally identified.

Detective James Royal, with help from the FBI, advanced fingerprint identification technology and the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, helped identify the victim as Michael Murray.

Murray was originally from Atlanta but was believed to have been living in California around the time of his death.

KSP’s London, Kentucky post made the announcement on Thursday.

Kentucky troopers are still assisting in the investigation of the circumstances surrounding Murray’s murder.
