KSP: Fight leads to shooting in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was airlifted to a Tennessee hospital after being shot in the chest following a fight in Perry County Sunday.

Kentucky State Police responded to a report of a shooting around 2:48 p.m. at the Front Porch General Store in Slemp. Troopers say Darrell Cress and Jim Slone got into a fight in the parking lot and Slone shot Cress.

Cress was air-lifted to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, according to KSP.

Slone was arrested and charged with assault.
