KSP: Drugs, cash found in car during traffic stop

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man has been arrested after Troopers say they found drugs and cash in a car during a traffic stop.

Police say they stopped a car on a traffic violation at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday morning on KY HWY 461 in the Mount Vernon community of Rockcastle Co.  Officers say there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the passenger side of the car.  When police went to search the vehicle, they say they found a backpack holding several baggies with what looked like marijuana, and synthetic marijuana.  According to investigators, methamphetamine, scales, other drug paraphernalia, and cash were also found in the backpack.

The passenger in the car, 20-year-old Jacob Mink was arrested and charged with public intoxication, possession, and trafficking.

He was taken to the Rockcastle Co. Detention Center.
