KSP: Drug use possible factor in fatal wreck
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person is dead following a head-on crash in Clay County and Kentucky State Police say drug use may be a factor.
The accident happened Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. on US Highway 421 in the Garrard community.
State Police say investigators determined a 2000 Nissan Frontier, driven by 46-year-old Elsie M. Roberts, was traveling southbound when she crossed the center-line of the highway and struck a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado head-on,
Roberts, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
Police say her passenger was taken to a hospital in London to be treated for her injuries.
The driver of the Silverado and his three passengers were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
State Police say drug use is suspected to be a factor in the collision.
