KSP: Collision shuts down Highway 160 in Harlan
HARLAN, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police say a collision Monday afternoon shut down part of Highway 160 in Harlan.
Troopers say Jennifer Young of Cumberland was headed south and had just exited a steep curve when she saw another vehicle in her same lane, backing toward her. State police say Young tried to avoid a collision by turning onto a steep driveway. But investigators say one of her tires dropped off the driveway and the car flipped.
State police say Young and her passenger, Robert Young, suffered several injuries. Troopers say they were wearing their seatbelts when the car rolled onto its top.
Both victims went to Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital, according to state police.
