KSP: Combs man recovering after being shot during argument

COMBS, Ky. (WTVQ) – An argument in Perry County turned violent on Thursday, erupting into gunfire that sent one man to the hospital.

Troopers say that the got a call about a fight complaint around 4:30 p.m., and headed out to Elm Shoal Branch Road.

When they arrived, they discovered a man shot two times.

Investigators say the victim, Mark Taylor, had gotten into an argument with 67-year-old Chester Jones.  During the argument, troopers say Jones pulled a gun and shot Taylor, and then drove away from the scene.

Taylor was taken to Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Jones later turned himself into KSP.  He was charged with assault and taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail.  A mugshot of Jones was not available at the time of publication.
