KSP charges man with murder after drinking and driving

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – KSP are charging a man with murder and driving under the influence, after he struck a motorcycle Wednesday night.

According to KSP, 49-year-old Jesse Bennett was driving a Ford truck southbound on HWY-11 around 7 p.m. when he collided with a Harley Davidson Motorcycle driving north.

The two people on the motorcycle, 18-year-old Taylor Lainhart and 24-year-old Jeremiah Taylor, were rushed to the UK Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Lainhard passed away form her injuries while at the hospital.

KSP says Bennett was arrested, and is being charged with Murder, 2nd degree Assault, 1st degree Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs (Aggravated), and Open Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle.
