KSP: Bell County magistrate was looking to hire a hitman

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Troopers in Bell County say a magistrate is in jail for the second time since March.

State police say Magistrate Ricky Goodin was taken into custody after an investigation showed he was threatening to hire someone to kill someone else. Detectives with the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations and Post 10 arrested Goodin. He’s charged with Criminal Solicitation and Murder, according to troopers. Goodin is in the Bell County Detention Center with bond set at $1 million.

This isn’t Goodin’s first run-in with state police this year.

He was also arrested back in March when troopers say, he was selling prescription drugs and meth out of his gun and pawn shop.
