KSP asking for help with cold case
OWENTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are asking for help identifying a woman in an Owenton cold case.
Investigators say on May 6, 1988, a woman’s partially decomposed body was found in an open field off Highway 330, 18 miles south of Owenton.
Investigators believe she was murdered, but don’t know her identity.
The woman is believed to have been between the ages of 25-40 when she died. She was wearing dark brown or black men’s socks, a brown nylon blouse, Winner’s Choice men’s tennis shoes, size 5 1/2, faded blue jeans and a blue bra.
She had dark brown hair with some grey, cut in a bobbed style.
Investigators say the victim had a poorly homemade tattoo of the name “STEVE” on her upper arm.
