KSP: Ambulance driver, patient killed in Garrard County crash
Ambulance and semi collide on Lexington Rd. at Old Lexington Rd. near Rocky Top
UPDATE: KSP confirms two people died from injuries in the crash in Garrard County.
According to Trooper Justin Kearney’s Facebook page, the driver of the ambulance, 26-year old Chastian Mcwhorter of Albany, and 75-year old Robert Caudell, of Nancy, who was a patient in the ambulance, both were killed in the crash.
Two other people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to Trooper Kearney, they are 23-year old Bailey Haynes, of Somerset, who was a passenger in the ambulance, and 44-year old Cory Dunn, the driver of the semi.
The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.

GARRARD, Co., Ky. (WTVQ) — According to Kentucky State Police, southbound lanes on Lexington Road in Garrard County are shut down due to a crash.
Somerset-Pulaski County EMS says one of their ambulances was involved in the crash.
Officials say this is a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 27 and Old US 27 near the Jessamine County line at the Rocky Top Food Market Shell Station.
They say traffic is consolidated to one lane for both north and southbound traffic.
The lanes are expected to be closed for several hours. Officials encourage people to find alternative routes and avoid the area.
