Kroger to offer transgender workers full benefits

CINCINNATI, OH. (WTVQ)-Kroger plans to offer full health benefits to its transgender workers. That’s according to Forbes Magazine. It says the updated employee health plan will include surgery and drug therapy for gender reassignment.

According to Forbes, Cincinnati-based Kroger is the fifth largest private employer in the United States. The magazine says a growing list of high-profile employees offer similar plans,  including Apple, Gap and General Motors.

The benefits will reportedly be available starting in January 2016.
