Kroger’s card system down for part of Christmas Eve
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The high-tech Grinch showed up at some Kroger stores on Christmas Eve, causing nationwide technology failures during the height of last-minute holiday dinner grocery shopping.
The company says its machines were down for a while and weren’t accepting EBT, credit or debit cards, which meant customers could only use cash.
Unfortunately, that led to long lines and short tempers.
The grocery chain says its system was back up and running by 2:00 p.m. EST
Plenty of frustrated customers vented on social media about the inconvenience.
