Knox County man charged with child sexual exploitation

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested a Knox County man for child sexual exploitation.

27 year-old Robert Whitter III was arrested Wednesday, February 28 after an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

Whitter was arrested on charges related to distribution of child pornography.

The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began its investigation into Whitter after discovering uploaded images of child sexual exploitation online.

KSP executed a search warrant at Whitter’s Barbourville residence on Wednesday.

Investigators seized equipment used in the crime, which will be analyzed by KSP’s forensic lab.

The investigation is ongoing.

Whitter is charged with three counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

He faces a possible one to five years in prison.
