Knox County man accused of stealing electricity

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Knox County man is accused of an unusual theft – stealing electricity.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says it received a complaint about stolen electricity at a home on Ky. 3437 in Gray.

When a deputy arrived at the scene, he spotted a man running into the backdoor of the home.

The deputy says he went inside the home and saw a man in bed, fully clothed, pretending to sleep.

The deputy says the man, identified as 34-year-old Dustin Walters, refused to get out of bed, so he pulled off the covers and removed Walters from the bed.

Sheriff’s deputies say discovered a meter from the home was removed from the base.

Walters is charged with theft of services, resisting arrest, menacing and burglary.
