Knox County man accused of firing shots at officers
HIMYAR, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a trooper was almost hit by bullets while answering a call in Knox County on Monday.
State Police say the trooper was assisting a Knox County Sheriff’s deputy with an assault complaint at a home on 2827 KY Highway 930 around 12:40 a.m.
They say after knocking on the door and identifying themselves as officers, a woman looked out the bedroom window, closed the blinds then someone started firing shots through the side of the house where the trooper was standing.
The officers took cover and say that’s when 47-year-old Jason Marsee, of Gray, came out of the home and tossed a rifle in the yard.
He was then taken into custody.
State Police say a neighbor’s home was struck by two rounds, one hitting where the two people were sleeping.
Marsee is charged with attempted murder of a police officer, wanton endangerment, menacing, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, and other charges.
