Kim Davis greeted by supporters upon release from jail

GRAYSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Embattled Rowan Co. Clerk Kim Davis was greeted by hundreds of supporters outside the Carter Co. Detention Center when she was released from jail today.

Davis had been held on a contempt of court charge for refusing to issue marriage licenses because of her religious beliefs.

The federal judge who ordered her to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples granted her release today, but warned her not to interfere with the issuing of licenses when she goes back to work.
