Kidnapping and Murder Indictment in Somerset
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department learned that Steven Matthew Perry, 20, had written out plans in which he described his desire to "rescue" a 16-year old female from her parents, and then "neutralize" the parents.
Detectives found a list of steps in the writings, as well as maps, a written diagram of the parent’s home and street, as well as photos of the young woman and her parents.
Investigators say Perry and the would-be victim on Facebook.
They also say Perry had been diagnosed with mental problems, which may have contributed to his infatuation with the 16-year old girl.
Perry has been charged with Criminal Attempt to commit Kidnapping and Criminal Attempt to commit Murder.
He is being held in the Pulaski County Detention Center under a $100,000 cash bond.
