Kickball tournament to benefit Lexington officer diagnosed with cancer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police Department Detective Phillip Harrison,a 19-year veteran of the police department, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and the Kentucky Auxiliary – Wives Behind the Badge is hosting a kickball tournament to help raise funds to offset the medical expenses.
The kickball tournament will be held June 11, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the ball fields located at Southland Church on Harrodsburg Road. The community is encouraged to get a team together with a minimum of 9 players and sign up by emailing Kim Pope at kare.ky.@wivesbehindthebadge.org. There is a $5 donation for each player and it will go directly to Detective Harrison and his family. The deadline to sign up is May 15. Spectators are welcome to come out and donations will gladly be accepted.
