KHAKY “Trees of Life” set for Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky’s (KHAKY) annual event “Trees of Life” returns this weekend but will look different this year due to the pandemic.
According to KHAKY’s Acting Director Pat Ham, kidney disease is the 9th leading cause of death in the state with, “Over 2,500 people on dialysis.”
The 34th annual event is free and open to the public. It will benefit KHAKY’s numerous programs, particularly its’ Nutritional Supplement Program.
“It’s an expensive program and one that we offer to every patient in this Central Kentucky area,” explained Ham.
This year’s event will take place outdoors on Saturday, November 21 from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. at 1517 Nicholasville Road in Lexington. The trees will be at their office location in the parking lot under an open-air tent.
Attendees can buy a tree, gift basket, decor item or a mystery gift with a surprise present.
There will be live entertainment, food trucks and more.
The event will follow health safety guidelines. All guests will be required to wear a mask and follow the social distancing guidelines.
Anything that doesn’t sell will go to an online auction HERE starting Sunday, lasting seven days.
