Kentucky’s Chris Stapleton appears in Game of Thrones

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Country music superstar Chris Stapleton put down the guitar and took up arms for a brief cameo during Sunday’s “Game of Thrones” episode.

The episode titled “The Long Night” featured an appearance by the Kentucky native.

Stapleton played a White Walker, a zombie-like creature that can rise from the dead by the Night King.

Stapleton’s bassist and tour manager were also in the episode.

According to Rolling Stone, Stapleton, who considers himself a huge fan of the show, had his management reach out about the possibility of casting him in a bit part.

Although the moment was fleeting and just a close up of his eyes opening – Stapleton said it was worth it.

“I was like, you know, I would gladly fly to wherever in the world just to be a small part and get to watch that show going down,” Stapleton told “Rolling Stone.” “They were gracious enough to let me come participate that way.”
