Kentucky wins 4th in a row, but it was costly
LEXINGTON, KY-(ABC 36 NEWS NOW)
The Kentucky Wildcats picked up their fourth straight conference win with an 85–80 victory over Texas at Rupp Arena, but the win came at a cost. Sophomore guard Kam Williams suffered a broken foot and is expected to miss significant time.
Williams joins a growing list of injured Wildcats. Point guard Jaland Lowe is out for the remainder of the season following shoulder surgery, while 6-foot-10 center Jayden Quaintance has missed the last four games with a knee injury.
Despite battling the flu and missing practice the past few days, Collin Chandler turned in his best performance of the season. Chandler sat out Wednesday morning’s shootaround but still finished with 18 points and tied for the team lead with seven rebounds.
Kentucky received 27 points from its bench and went 30-of-35 from the free-throw line. The Wildcats will return to action Saturday at noon, hosting Ole Miss at Rupp Arena.
