Kentucky Transportation Cabinet warning of scams
KENTUCKY (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Officials are warning Kentuckians about a new scam text making the rounds, falsely claiming to be from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and asking recipients to pay traffic ticket fines via a link.
According to KYTC, the agency does not collect fines through text messages and says any message asking you to click a link to pay fees is fraudulent.
If you’ve already clicked the link or shared personal information, officials urge you to contact your bank immediately.
