Kentucky State Police step up commercial vehicle inspections during Brake Safety Week
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police are ramping up safety checks on commercial vehicles this week as part of the nationwide Brake Safety Week campaign.
From now through August 30, officers with the KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division are inspecting trucks and buses for faulty brakes. Officials say brake issues are the leading reason vehicles are taken out of service, and inspectors will focus on drums and rotors that directly affect stopping ability.
KSP says the initiative is critical to keeping Kentucky highways safe for everyone while also supporting a safe and reliable trucking industry.
