Kentucky State Police investigating fatal head-on collision in Lincoln County

STANFORD, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Wednesday morning in the Stanford community.

According to KSP Post 7, the collision happened just before 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of US 27 and East Main Street. Investigators say 75-year-old Sandra Arie of Creve Coeur, Illinois, was driving a 2004 Buick south in the northbound lane of US 27 when she collided head-on with a 2017 Toyota driven by 19-year-old Alexis Slone of Waynesburg, Kentucky.

Arie was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office. Slone was taken to Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to KSP.
