Kentucky State Police investigating deadly shooting in Adair County

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon in Adair County.

Troopers say they responded around 3 p.m. to a reported shooting at a home on KY 55 South, along with the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.

When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Jordan Hadley of Columbia suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

State police say their initial investigation indicates Jordan Hadley and his father, 56-year-old Phillip Bruce Hadley, were involved in a heated argument. During that confrontation, police say Phillip Hadley pulled out a handgun and fired a shot, hitting his son.

Phillip Bruce Hadley was arrested and charged with murder. He was taken to the Adair County Detention Center.
