Kentucky State Fire School’s 85th Year
Thousands of firefighters made their way to Lexington the past three days for the 85th Kentucky State Fire School, which is also the oldest in the nation.
There are about 40 classes that the fire commission described as intense. They help firefighters from all over the state get their hands on equipment and prepare for the real thing.
Different types of fires were simulated in the parking lot behind Rupp Arena.
There were car props that caught on fire and a burn trailer–that produce a scene similar to a couch or stove fire.
260 fire agencies participated.
