Kentucky Soldier Honored In Berea

BEREA, KY. (WTVQ): A Kentucky soldier that went missing in action was honored in Berea.

Rolling Thunder held a ceremony for Captain Hugh “Mac” Byrd.

Byrd and Lt. Kevin O’Brien haven’t been heard from in 50 years.

According to Rolling Thunder, their plane went down in 1969 when they served in Vietnam.

Rolling Thunder placed a wreath at Berea cemetery as a reminder he hasn’t been forgotten.

Byrd’s sister came from Virginia to take part in the ceremony.
