Kentucky sending ambulance strike team to Florida

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) sending more assistance to Florida to help with Irma clean up.

On Sunday, KYEM officials received a request for assistance with ambulance services from Florida.

It enables states to share resources during natural and man-made disasters.

KYEM  worked with EMAC to deploy another emergency services team down to Irma impacted areas.

The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) deployed an Ambulance Strike Team on Monday.

The strike team left Monday morning for a seven-day deployment in Florida.

The team includes 30 members, 6 ambulances, and a six-wheel ATV ambulance.

Members of the team are from Independence, Somerset, Boyle Co, Lyon Co., Livingston Co., Shelby Co., KY Fire Commission, and the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.
