Kentucky Rolls Past Abilene Christian to Move on to the Second Round, 79-44
JACKSONVILLE, FL (WTVQ) – It was no PJ Washington, no problem for the Kentucky Wildcats Thursday night. The Cats made quick work against Abilene Christian, 79-44.
UK set a new program record at half in this game by limiting the opposing wildcats to just 13 first-half points.
Leading the way for Kentucky was Keldon Johnson, who finished with a game-high 25 points. Reid Travis was impressive as well with absence of Washington. Travis had 18 point and nine rebounds.
With the win, Kentucky moves on to the second round for a Saturday tip. As for the status of Washington, that remains unclear. During Thursday’s win, he was seen wearing a hard cast on his left foot.
