FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Kentucky River has crested at 48.2 feet, marking the second highest flood in Frankfort’s history, according to a Facebook post from the Frankfort, KY City Government.
City officials are urging residents to stay home if possible as several areas remain flooded and emergency crews continue their work to ensure safety throughout the community.
The post emphasized the importance of continuing to conserve water while waiting for the river to recede. Updates on water treatment facilities are expected once conditions improve.
City officials are asking people to wait before dropping off donations as agencies are currently developing plans for returning residents home and organizing collections.
