Kentucky prepares to activate emergency operations center for Election Day
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky’s State Emergency Operations Center in Frankfort will be activated on Election Day, November 5, as a precautionary measure to ensure a safe and secure election, Gov. Andy Beshear announced. Kentucky joins other states across the nation in activating their emergency centers on Election Day, though Gov. Beshear emphasized that this action is not in response to any specific threats or anticipated issues in the state.
Meanwhile, early in-person, no-excuse voting continues across Kentucky, with long lines reported at polling locations on the first day of early voting. Voters in Fayette County can cast their ballots early at any public library from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Saturday.
Election Day voting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5.
