Kentucky police officer killed in ATV crash

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Kentucky police officer has died after an ATV crash Sunday morning.

The chief of the Jackson Police Department in Breathitt County says Lieutenant Shawn Howard, a 19-year veteran with the force, died in the crash in the Quicksand Creek Community.

According to the chief, Howard leaves behind a wife and a 6-year-old daughter he “loved with all his heart”.

In a statement, the chief also says Lieutenant Howard had a passion for Jackson City basketball and goes on to say Howard was family and the department will never be the same without him.
