Kentucky police departments joining in lip-sync challenge

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some Kentucky police departments are taking part in a friendly lip-syncing challenge heating up on social media.

Different law enforcement agencies across the country are challenging each other to show off their lip-syncing abilities by posting their videos on Twitter and Facebook.

At least two Kentucky police departments have posted videos of their officers taking the challenge.

Henderson Police Department in Henderson, Kentucky chose “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus.

That department challenged the Owensboro Police Department along with the Evansville Police Department in Evansville, Indiana.

The Owensboro Police Department answered the challenge with their take on Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.”

The department then challenged the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and the Murray Police Department.

It appears the viral performances started in Texas about two weeks ago as a mic drop between the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the San Antonio Police Department.

All the agencies participating say taxpayer money was not used in the making of the videos.
