Kentucky Player Pleads Not Guilty On Rape Charge

Kentucky freshman defensive lineman Lloyd Tubman pleaded not guilty Wednesday after being arrested and charged with first-degree rape.

Tubman was released on $10,000 bond from the Lexington-Fayette County jail after a hearing.

Until Tubman’s next court appearance, the judge ordered him to stay in Louisville with his family.  The judge also said Tubman could not have contact with the reported victim.

A few hours before getting arrested Tuesday, Tubman tweeted out a Bible verse about false witnesses.

When police first spoke with the reported victim, they described her as being visibly upset, crying, and shaking.

According to court documents, the woman told police Tubman was her ex-boyfriend.  According to the documents, she told Tubman they would not have sex and moments later she said she saw Tubman totally naked on her bed.  The female then told police Tubman raped her.

According to Tubman’s arrest warrant this happened next: "Scared Victim A ran back to the other side of the room, but tripped and fell.  Mr. Tubman then laughed at her and said, ‘I’m done playin wit you."

During the court hearing, Tubman’s lawyer asked the UK Freshman for his phone’s password.  The lawyer said he needed to look at it right away.  After court, we saw the lawyer with the phone.

He declined to speak with us.

Tubman is due back in court in two weeks.
