Kentucky participating in National Prescription Take Back Day

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Central Kentucky residents will have a place to drop off expired or unwanted medication this week during the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Take Back Day.

The DEA and local law enforcement agencies across the country host a free, no-questions-asked disposal event on Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Items accepted at Take Back Day:

– Prescription and over-the-counter pills
– Vitamins
– Medicated ointments and lotions
– Pet medication

NOTE: Liquids, aerosol cans and needles are not accepted at Take Back Day.

Cynthiana – Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St.

Danville – City Hall, 445 W. Main St.

Frankfort – Franklin County Health Department, 851 East-West Connector

Harrodsburg – Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, 207 W. Lexington St.

Lawrenceburg – Anderson Apothecary, 90 Plaza Dr.

Midway – Midway City Hall, 101 E. Main St

Richmond – Kentucky State Police Post 7, 699 Eastern Bypass
Richmond Police Department, 1721 Lexington Rd

Winchester – Winchester Police Department, 16 S. Maple St.

Versailles – Kroger, 212 Kroger Way
