Kentucky man honored for hurricane relief work

TEXAS, Ky. (WTVQ) – A little bit of Lexington was on display in Texas Sunday night.

A man who used to call the bluegrass home was honored at Texas A&M for his relief work after hurricane Harvey.

Zach Dearing made headlines as a hurricane hero, helping about 100 people weather the storm in a shelter until help could arrive.

Dearing and four other volunteers were awarded a “point of light award” from the five former presidents.
