Kentucky man is dead after a head on crash
JACKSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Breathitt County man has died this weekend in a car crash. State police say it happened in Jackson late Friday night on Highway 15.
According to troopers, Baxter Gwin was driving a Ford Mustang in the northbound lane, but crossed into the southbound lane where it hit a Toyota Camry head on.
KSP says Gwin was ejected from his car and pronounced dead on scene. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
The Camry’s driver, 21-year-old Benton Lockhart from Hazard was taken to the hospital, treated for minor injuries and released. He was wearing a seat belt.
Troopers say impairment of some kind seems to have helped cause the crash.
