Kentucky man arrested on child pornography charges following ICAC investigation

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Harrodsburg man has been arrested and charged after an investigation revealed he was allegedly downloading and distributing child pornography, according to a press release from the Harrodsburg Police Department.

Police say they were notified by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force about illegal online activity tied to a local resident. Following their investigation, officers arrested Jacob R. Murphy of Harrodsburg, who now faces charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

Authorities say a search warrant was executed and additional evidence was collected. The case is being referred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for further prosecution.

The investigation remains open and ongoing, with police noting that more charges are possible.

Murphy is locked up in the Jessamine County Detention Center.
