Kentucky maintains slim lead in blood drive
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Big Blue Slam score couldn’t get much closer as Solid Blue fans lead the blood battle 1,193 to 1,187 going into the last day.
“It’s a close one, and we hope the Big Blue Nation will show up in force tomorrow to finish up Big Blue Slam with a win,” said Martha Osborne, Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment for Kentucky Blood Center (KBC).
“We really appreciate everyone who has donated this week. We’re leading Florida, which is great, but we’re also rebuilding the blood supply that was hit hard last week.”
Donors at all KBC blood drives and donor centers will receive a Slam T-shirt and a chance to win a pair of tickets to the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional at the Yum! Center in Louisville on March 24 and 26.
Big Blue Slam continues through tomorrow. KBC’s five donor centers will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and there will be mobile blood drives throughout the region.
