Animal cruelty investigation and arrest in Laurel County
London, Ky (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police troopers has been conducting a month-long investigation into an animal cruelty case after receiving a complaint concerning numerous dogs at a residence on Farriston Road in Laurel County.
According to KSP on Tuesday, November 24, Trooper Pratt made contact with the homeowner and the animal’s caretaker Stephanie E. Fields, 40, of London. They say he discovered that Fields is the director with Homeward Bound Animal Rescue. Inside the residence, troopers says they discovered 30 dogs living in horrible conditions and another 130 dogs outside the residence. Troopers say they had the 30 dogs inside the residence removed that day and continued the investigation.
As a result of the investigation, KSP obtained an arrest warrant for Fields. On Thursday Fields was arrested at her home. The other 130 dogs were removed by the Laurel County Animal Rescue
Fields was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center and charged with Cruelty To Animals, 2nd Degree.
