Kentucky GOP responds to Democratic ad against Andy Barr
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A spokesman for the Republican Party of Kentucky Friday said a new ad from a National Democratic campaign committee aimed at Congressman Andy Barr was false and shows the desperation of Washington Democrats. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee began airing radio ads against Congressman Barr in Lexington on Thursday.
“Andy Barr represents the values of the people of Central Kentucky, not the coastal elites,” said RPK Communications Director Tres Watson. “Since he refuses to become one of them, they’ve decided to spend their money spreading lies in an effort to replace him with someone who will. Fortunately, the voters of the Bluegrass are smarter than that.”
The ad attacks Congressman Barr’s efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare. Republicans, however, dispute the facts.
“Obamacare is failing in Kentucky; it will bankrupt our budget,” said Watson. “We applaud Congressman Barr’s efforts to craft a plan that would maintain coverage for Kentuckians in need while recognizing the budgetary constraints both the state and federal budgets find themselves in. Congressman Barr is offering Kentuckians a health care plan he can actually deliver to them rather than the unsustainable, failing pipe dream that is Obamacare.”
