Kentucky casts its votes at GOP Convention
CLEVELAND, OHIO (WTVQ) – During a convention’s ‘Roll Call’ of the states, every state gets its moment in the spotlight. Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at his side, had the spotlight Tuesday evening in Cleveland at the Republican National Convention.
“Mr. Chairman, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, home of Churchill Downs and American Pharoah, the source of bluegrass music and the home of Bill Monroe, from the state where the largest Toyota plant in the world is located, the makers of the Ford F150 and the Chevy Corvette, from the state that produces all the bourbon fit to drink in the world, from a state where our citizens still respect God and the Constitution and our Military and our police officers, it is an honor to case our vote: 7 for Governor Kasich, 7 for Senator Rubio, 15 for Senator Cruz and 17 for the next president of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump,” said Republican Governor Matt Bevin.
