Kentucky Career Center sets up job fair in Douglas Park
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – There’s a need right now for both jobs and for new hires according to district leaders.
To bridge that gap, a job fair was hosted by the Kentucky Career Center on Saturday.
38 different companies from the city, post office and other resources set up tents with the intention to interview and hire.
The job levels from different companies varied from entry level to career paths.
Urban County Council member Josh McCurn says six months ago the neighborhood was asking for some resources and open positions. This fair is believed to help meet that demand.
“We’ve seen the need throughout our community we see the need here that all these employers are looking to bring people in and bring new employment opportunities but at the same time neighbors that are looking for opportunities we have it available so we will show it,” says McCurn.
City leaders say this was one of three events to be hosted over the next few months.
