Kentucky Bourbon Festival to be virtual amid virus
BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Bourbon Festival is 66 days away but attendees will have to toast virtually this year.
The festival’s board shifted the event to a virtual experience because of the coronavirus pandemic. Originally, the board scheduled the event for Oct. 15-18. While the event will happen during those days, it will now be a virtual experience.
Festival organizers say the virtual option was decided on to help protect the safety of distilleries and the health of bourbon fans and the Bardstown community, where the annual event is held.
Organizers say bourbon fans will be able to go online to view nearly 20 live and recorded “Spirits Education Sessions.”
