Kentucky bounces back with blowout win over NC Central
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) — The Kentucky Wildcats bounced back from their back-to-back losses with a 36-point win over North Carolina Central. The Wildcats led by more than 20 points throughout the second half en route to the 103–67 victory.
After a slow start, during which the Cats led by only four at the under-12 timeout, they finished the first half on a huge run to take a 21-point lead into the halftime break.
Jasper Johnson had a career high with 22 points, which was also a game high. Otega Oweh also set a season high in points with 21 and was tied for a game-high seven rebounds.
The Wildcats also set a season high in assists with 27. They were led by Colin Chandler who finished with eight on the game.
Kentucky will return home on Saturday to host the Indiana Hoosiers. This will be the first game on either team’s campus in this rivalry since 2011. The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
