Kentucky Basketball Legend Frank Ramsey dies at 86

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky Basketball legend Frank Ramsey has passed away.

Ramsey was a Kentucky Basketball National Champion, All-American and UK Athletics Hall of Famer.

He died from natural causes Sunday morning in his hometown of Madisonville, Kentucky. He was going to turn 87 on Friday.

“Just heard we’ve lost one of the best to ever put on a Kentucky uniform. Frank Ramsey was one of the all-time greats and the original sixth man in the NBA,” tweeted UK Head Basketball Coach John Calipari.
