Kentucky Basketball lands star defensive force Amari Williams

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Amari Williams of Drexel was deciding between Kentucky and Mississippi State, and ultimately decided Sunday afternoon to join Mark Pope and the Wildcats. The 6-foot-10 forward is a three-time CAA defensive player of the year. He is a physical inside presence and should serve as a great rim protector and rebounder.

Williams averaged 12.2 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game in his last season at Drexel. He also finished last season with 57 blocks, and has led his conference in blocks over the last three years.

The Kentucky roster now has three players: Amari Williams, Collin Chandler, and Travis Perry.
