Kentucky Baseball falls short in Clemson Regional opener
UK loses 3-2 to West Virginia and faces an elimination game
CLEMSON, S.C. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Kentucky baseball is facing an elimination game and will be fighting to keep its season alive on Saturday at Noon after a defeat to West Virginia in the opener of the Clemson Regional.
UK fell 4-3 to the Mountaineers after having a 3-0 lead through three frames on Friday. A duo of Wildcat errors saw WVU score on two unearned two-out runs which shifted momentum.
The Mountaineers walked it off to take the victory and handed Head Coach Nick Mingione’s team its 25th loss of the season. The loss ended a nine-game winning streak in the postseason versus non-conference opponents.
